Country Café at Limestone Cove

The Country Café at Limestone Cove is a jewel in the backcountry of Unicoi County whose humble exterior belies the fine dining establishment within. The Country Café (formerly known as The Wagon Wheel Restaurant) started life as a burger and fries diner, but since 2007 has been transformed by owner Judy Taub and Executive Chef Glenn Eastham into a dining destination for the East Tennessee region, with dedicated diners traveling from as far away as WNC. Chef Eastham retired from Florida and his former life as an executive, award-winning chef in a 5-star seaside restaurant. A casual tour of the back roads of Unicoi County led to his serendipitous meeting with restaurant owner Judy Taub and the two soon visualized the culinary possibilities of that opportune moment. Fine “town and country” fare is the menu at The Country Café at Limestone Cove – a menu which features such tasty delicacies as rack of lamb, shrimp and grits, and fresh seafood including halibut and Copper River salmon from Alaska. Desserts include Death by Chocolate, Key Lime Cheesecake, and Lemon Wildberry Cake. The Country Café can accommodate 44 diners, with alfresco dining under the gazebo for 15.
