Angie’s Hair and Tanning Salon

Unicoi native Angie Stout began her hair styling career in Johnson City in 1988. She opened her current hometown hair and tanning salon in 1999. The nicely landscaped site with its board and batten, mountain-style building also houses Angie’s personal collection of modern-day pop culture – featuring everything from 1950s-era vinyl 45rpm records to a wall-size poster of Andy Griffith as Sheriff Andy Taylor with his son Opie. Angie’s full-service hair salon, catering to women, men and children, features Redken and AroPur products and provides cuts, colors, perms and highlights, as well as “design wraps.” Special order hair care products can be obtained within 24 hours and discount tanning and perm specials are also available. Angie and her assistant attend New York hair shows annually.
