Jones & Church Farms, Inc.

Jones & Church Farms, Inc. is one of the largest employers in the Town of Unicoi. Maintaining 640 acres of farm land in Washington, Greene, and Hamblen counties and a key packing house facility in the town of Unicoi, Jones & Church provides seasonal employment from July to November for some 250 people. Independent farmers Carl Jones and Buck Church joined forces in 1975; consolidating their efforts, quickly becoming one the region’s most prominent farming operations. Today, Jones & Church, complying with all FDA regulations, packs and ships their Green Mountain, Blue Mountain, and Buffalo Mountain brand tomatoes to buyers all along the East coast and into the Mid-west. The company, which handles some 4 million tomato plants a year, also ships tomatoes internationally to Canada and Puerto Rico.
